Taos Country Inn 800-866-6548, rambling adobe home hosted by a local who grew up here and knows just about everything and everyone.
Casa Benavides 800-552-1772, ditto this couple who were both born and raised here, the McCarthys have turned several family homes just steps from the Plaza into a large inn with a personal touch. They still make breakfast for their guests.
Adobe & Stars 800-211-7076, on the way to Taos Ski Valley with a courtyard filled with sculpture and art with panoramic mountain views.
